Infectious Diseases Division

The Miami Transplant Institute (MTI), an affiliation between Jackson Health System and UHealth, is the second largest transplant center in the U.S. with a record-breaking 747 successful transplants in 2019. This standing has provided unique opportunities for our Transplant ID faculty to engage in transformative transplant and stem cell transplant research.

Clinical Interventions
The Infectious Diseases Division participates in multiple studies to assess the safety and efficacy of leading treaments in Transplant ID. The following is a list of related research by divisional faculty.
1. A Phase 3, randomized, double-blind, active controlled study to compare the efficacy and safety of ridinilazole (200 mg, bid) for 10 days with vancomycin (125 mg, qid) for 10 days in the treatment of Clostridium difficile infection (CDI) (SMT19969/C005)
