Graduate Education Specialty Training Program (G.E.S.T)

Dr. Phillip Frost Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery

The Dr. Phillip Frost Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery offers a Graduate Education Specialty Training (G.E.S.T.) Fellowship Program. This program is tailored for foreign dermatologists, preferably for those who have been recently trained. This program enables the fellow to rotate through every facet of the department and is divided into one-month blocks for a total of three months. This program previously received the award of excellence in education by the American Academy of Dermatology.

Every candidate who successfully completes the program will receive a Certificate of Completion signed by the Chairman of the department as well as the program director.

Requirements

  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Certified Copy of Medical School Diploma
  • Applicants must be proficient in both verbal and written English
  • Copy of Passport and Visa
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Proof of Immunization
  • Proof of Personal Health Insurance
  • Complete Web-Based HIPAA Certification
  • All documentation must be translated into the English language and certified.

The GEST Program Observership offers the following rotations

  • General Dermatology
  • Dermatologic Surgery including Mohs
  • Hair & Nails Disorders
  • Pediatric Dermatology
  • Cosmetic Dermatology
  • Hair Pathology
  • Participation in departmental activities including an active grand rounds program, weekly lectures, among others.
