Parking Fees
Monthly parking rates for faculty, staff, and students vary by location and eligibility (see fee table below).
Payment Methods
- Full-time faculty and staff pay via recurring payroll deduction. Employees paid bi-weekly are deducted from the second paycheck each month.
- Full-time students purchase permits through the Parking Portal. Parking fees are posted to student accounts on the 7th and 21st of each month; payment can then be made through CaneLink.
- All other permit holders pay monthly or quarterly by credit card or check.
Payment Deadlines and Reinstatement
If payment is not received by 11:59 PM on the first day of the month, parking access will be suspended. To restore access, a $5.00 reinstatement fee is required. If you allow your parking permit to expire, you risk losing your space to customers on the waitlist.
Tax Payroll Deduction Information
Effective January 31, 2020, UM faculty and staff parking and Metro/Tri-Rail expenses are deducted on a pre-tax basis. This means your contributions are deducted from pay before federal and Social Security taxes are calculated. Questions? Contact HR–Total Rewards at 305-284-3004, option 1, or complete the online form.
