This position is designed to provide a broader array of parenting program training opportunities relative to the position that is exclusively focused on PCIT. While this fellow will receive specialty training in PCIT for approximately half of their time, they will spend the other half of their time engaging in program development and administration within Parent Club, a group parenting workshop program based on principles of PCIT.

The University of Miami Parent Club portion of the postdoctoral associate position presents a unique opportunity for the trainee to gain experience in all aspects of program development and interface with sponsored partners. In addition, the trainee will gain experience being part of a highly diverse and dynamic team delivering evidence-based parenting content to multicultural communities. Postdoctoral associates will have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of program administration including interprofessional collaboration with school systems and community organizations. Additionally, the postdoctoral associate will supervise and train staff on workshop facilitation and parenting education. Further, the postdoctoral associate will participate in the development of new, evidence-based workshop content in collaboration with The Children’s Trust and our partners at Florida International University (FIU) and BeStrong.

The PCIT Postdoctoral Fellow receives specialty training in delivery of Parent-Child Interaction Therapy for children with disruptive behaviors and children with concurrent risks including autism, developmental concerns, and/or child maltreatment. We provide speciality training in delivery of services via Internet-Based PCIT, services in Spanish, and services for children with autism. In addition, fellows who are already PCIT-certified have the opportunity to train to become a within-agency trainer.
