The Department of Physical Therapy offers two degree programs, the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) and the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in physical therapy. We also offer advanced post-professional training in six areas through accredited residency programs in collaboration with UHealth, Jackson Health Systems, and Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. In addition, the department houses the University of Miami Center for Advanced Physical Therapy Teaching and Learning (UM-CAPiTTAL). CAPiTTAL serves as a hub for education research, continuing education, and professional development.
Our students, residents, and fellows receive high quality education through our academic and clinical programs, and participate in national and international research presentations, as well as community service activities.
