Our division has a strong commitment to educational scholarship and encourages the dissemination of educational materials and methods in both traditional journals and online repositories for educational materials such as the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) MedEdPORTAL and the Portal of Geriatrics Online Education (POGOe). Our faculty members have an excellent track record of publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed teaching materials that are used by institutions in the US and in countries around the world as resources for teaching and curriculum development.
Our faculty are actively engaged in mentoring fellows, residents, and medical students interested in educational research and scholarship. This mentoring relationship can be prominently seen in the work by the Laboratory of E-learning and Multimedia Research (L.E.M.U.R), founded by Dr. Jorge Ruiz. This multidisciplinary team of professionals is dedicated to exploring the use of e-learning and educational technology to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of health care education.
