Our department is dedicated to training excellent psychiatrists and to fostering leaders in the research of clinical psychiatry who are well-prepared for the full range of psychotherapeutic and psychopharmacologic modalities and neuroscience. Continuing education is a fundamental way we achieve this.
Through encouraging the pursuit of fellowships, advancement programs, scholarships, and attendance at Grand Rounds, we are helping shape the next generation of leaders in the field of psychiatry. Our Grand Round lectures are presented by accomplished speakers, departmental chairpersons of prestigious universities, eminent scholars are distinguished professors from the most renowned medical schools and research institutes in this country and abroad. They present the latest research results and the most up-to-date advances in patient treatment modalities. These lectures promote excellence in patient care and will educate a broad range of healthcare professionals. Grand Rounds are designated as an educational activity for a maximum of 1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) ™. The University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
