The field of Psychiatry is a vibrant and evolving specialty, with ongoing breakthroughs in neurobiology and psychotherapy that continue to deepen our understanding of the brain and behavior. At Jackson Memorial Hospital—one of the largest and busiest teaching hospitals in the nation—our residents benefit from hands-on training under the guidance of distinguished clinical faculty. Moreover, our psychiatry residents receive diverse and comprehensive clinical experiences through rotations at several affiliated institutions, including the University of Miami Hospital and the Miami VA Healthcare System. Thes training siters foster interdisciplinary collaboration and provide opportunities for residents to develop strong diagnostic and treatment skills, ensuring that all graduates of our program are well-prepared for a wide range of career paths within Psychiatry.

Our fully ACGME-accredited four-year program welcomes applicants who are passionate about exploring the many dimensions of psychiatry, whether in clinical practice, research, teaching, or healthcare leadership. Our residents receive mentorship from renowned faculty within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the UM Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine.
