Throughout the four-year program, residents spend a considerable amount of time in organized instruction, including seminars, teaching conferences by the faculty and visiting lecturers, continuous case conferences, journal club, M&Ms, grand rounds, and up to two hours per week of individual supervision.

Residents receive a half-day of didactics every Wednesday and classes are divided by PGY level. Didactics are protected time; residents are not responsible for covering the inpatient units while in class.

The residents also have the opportunity to meet and look over the curriculum and request lecture topics that have not been discussed in previous years. This allows residents to continually update and improve their own curriculum, fitting in more lectures directed at what residents want to learn.

Didactic Lecture Topics

  • PGY-1, one - two hours per week

  • PGY-2, three hours per week

  • PGY-3, three hours per week

  • PGY4, three hours per week
