Surgical Pathology Fellowship

The Surgical Pathology Fellowship is a one-year, non-accredited program.

The program is intended to provide advanced training and experience in the various diagnostic areas in surgical pathology, including the frozen section service. Excellence in diagnostic services, strong communication skills, a commitment to the teaching and training of residents and students, and a strong record of peer-reviewed clinical and translational research are desired qualifications for this position.

The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at the Miller School of Medicine is subspecialty based and serves patients cared for within the University of Miami network of hospitals and clinics (UHealth), as well as within the public Jackson Health System hospitals and clinics. The department is subspecialized and works closely with the University of Miami Sylvester Cancer Center in providing excellent patient care. Opportunities to collaborate in translational research projects are numerous. The fellowship year provides an outstanding opportunity to learn and practice surgical pathology in Miami, a highly desired area with rich culture, diversity, weather, and opportunities for outdoor activities.

History

Our fellowship program has been active since 2020, and provides a robust education-friendly environment.

Applications

Applicants must be Board eligible or certified in Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology or Anatomic Pathology. Candidates should submit the CAP standardized application, curriculum vitae and three letters of recommendation to the Fellowship Program Director and copy the Fellowship Program Coordinator. Salary is commensurate with the applicant’s year of postgraduate training.
