Point of Care Testing is a cornerstone in the immediate care of patients in the emergency department and intensive care unit.

The service provides essential support to all diagnostic investigations using POC options with evaluation of equipment accuracy and technical support.  Over 250,000 tests are performed annually.  Point of Care Testing Services of UHealth and Jackson Health Systems is led by Dr. David Andrews.  Dr. Andrews was boarded in Clinical Pathology after completing a fellowship at Harvard Medical School and has over 30 years of experience in laboratory medicine.
