Translational and Molecular Medicine Pathway
The "Bench to Bedside" focus area is designed for medical students who are passionate about transforming laboratory discoveries or clinical data into real-world clinical applications.

Most of the mentors in this focus area are working on disease-specific studies in the clinical departments. It offers rare involvement in applying translational research to that in the clinic across a broad spectrum of medical fields, empowering you to pursue a topic of interest to you. Projects have included work on innovative drug discoveries, analysis of clinical trials data, study of outcomes as diagnostic tools, and application of therapeutics. This focus area is your gateway to contributing meaningfully to the future of medicine to help bring novel discoveries in research to innovative treatment of patients.

Mentors of the Bench to Bedside focus area

The following faculty are scientists who are clinicians or basic researchers in clinical departments whose research projects address specific human diseases. The list includes experienced TMM pathway mentors and those who will mentor medical students in their labs. They are listed in last-name alphabetical order. The list is not comprehensive and may include other mentors with whom students might wish to train.
