The Desai Sethi Urology Institute offers a comprehensive Observership Program for domestic and international candidates seeking exposure to high-level academic urology.
Observers will have the opportunity to learn from our expert faculty across multiple subspecialties, including:
- Andrology & Male Infertility
- Urologic Oncology
- Endourology & Stone Disease
- Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery
- Pediatric Urology
- Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery
- Transplant Urology
Observerships are held at UHealth Tower, the University of Miami’s flagship hospital, offering a dynamic clinical and surgical learning environment.
Program Options
- Scheduled observerships are available for 1, 2, or 4 weeks
- Observerships longer than 4 weeks may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Participants observe in outpatient clinics, surgical settings, and academic conferences depending on specialty focus
Please note: This is an observational-only program. Observers are not permitted to perform clinical duties or participate in patient care.
Faculty Sponsorship Requirement
All applicants must secure faculty sponsorship prior to approval. Applicants are encouraged to identify a faculty member within their desired subspecialty who is willing to serve as their sponsor for the duration of the observership.
