The Jackson Memorial Hospital (JMH) Urologic Oncology Fellowship is a two year, post residency training program designed to prepare urologists for academic or high volume tertiary practice in complex oncologic care. Fellows gain extensive experience across the full spectrum of urologic malignancies while working within the integrated UHealth–University of Miami Health System and Jackson Health System.

Training Goals
- Master open, laparoscopic, and robotic approaches for kidney, prostate, bladder, testis, adrenal, and upper tract malignancies.
- Develop advanced decision‑making through multi‑disciplinary tumor boards and evidence‑based care pathways.
- Build competence in peri‑operative and survivorship care with an emphasis on quality and outcomes.
- Engage in impactful clinical research with opportunities for authorship and presentation.
Clinical Experience
Fellows participate in high‑complexity surgical cases, inpatient consults, and outpatient clinics across JMH and UHealth practices. Rotations are designed to ensure balanced exposure to:
- Kidney & Adrenal: Partial/ radical nephrectomy, IVC thrombectomy (in collaboration with vascular/cardiothoracic), adrenalectomy.
- Bladder & Upper Tract: Radical cystectomy with urinary diversion; segmental/ radical ureterectomy.
- Prostate: Robotic‑assisted radical prostatectomy; salvage procedures.
- Testis & Rare Tumors: RPLND, retroperitoneal/complex resections; penile cancer.
- Imaging & Diagnostics: mpMRI interpretation sessions, PSMA PET integration, percutaneous/ transperineal biopsy exposure.
- Multidisciplinary Care: GU tumor boards with medical and radiation oncology, pathology, radiology, and genomics.
Eligibility & Application
- Eligibility: MD/DO, completion of ACGME‑accredited urology residency (or international equivalent), Florida medical licensure eligibility.
