Biography
Dr. Bruno Nahar earned his medical degree in 2005 and completed residencies in General Surgery and Urology, achieving Board Certification in Urology in Brazil. After serving as faculty at a major academic hospital in Rio de Janeiro for four years, he pursued advanced subspecialty training through a two-year Clinical Fellowship in Urologic Oncology and Robotic Surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
Dr. Nahar is currently an Associate Professor of Urologic Oncology at the University of Miami and holds the prestigious Eric and Elizabeth Feder Endowed Chair in Urologic Oncology Research. His clinical and academic focus centers on the management of prostate, kidney, and bladder cancers, with particular expertise in focal therapy for prostate cancer. He has been among the national leaders in advancing minimally invasive and organ-preserving approaches, helping refine patient selection and long-term outcomes in focal treatment strategies.
In addition to his academic and clinical roles, Dr. Nahar serves as Associate Director of UHealth International at the University of Miami. In this leadership position, he works to expand global partnerships, facilitate international patient care, and strengthen the institution’s international clinical and academic collaborations.
Dr. Nahar has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters in urologic oncology and serves as a reviewer for leading academic journals in the field. His work continues to focus on innovation, quality improvement, and advancing patient-centered cancer care.
