Our REI Fellowship Program attracts outstanding and accomplished applicants. We are looking forward to receiving your application and in training prominent academic leaders in our subspecialty.

REI Fellowship applications are accepted and transmitted to us through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) from December 1 through May 1st each year.  All documents that ERAS allows and apply to an individual, must be uploaded in order for an application to be considered complete. Only those with complete applications are considered for interview.  Applicants will be selected through the “Specialties Matching Services of the National Resident Matching Program” (NRMP).

One position is available in the University of Miami’s REI Fellowship each year on a competitive basis. The fellowship begins on August 1st each year.

An eligible applicant must have successfully completed an ACGME-accredited residency in obstetrics and gynecology prior to starting the fellowship. The applicant must be Board eligible and file an application with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology at least 90 days prior to entry into the fellowship. Their application must be approved by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology before beginning their fellowship.

How to Apply

You must apply through Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) for Fellowship Applicants. Please note the annual application deadlines as listed by ERAS for fellowship programs. Your application must include the following to be considered complete:

  • Three current letters of recommendation (including one from your Program Director)
  • A personal statement
  • Official transcripts of your USMLE or COMLEX exam scores

Additional Information

  • Interview offers are by invitation only and will be extended via email after the Fellowship application period closes and all applications have been reviewed.
  • We do not factor in CREOG scores into our application process and do not require their submission to our program. In fairness to all applicants, any CREOG scores that are received will not be reviewed.

Post Interview Communication Policy

  • We will respect the integrity, confidentiality, and autonomy of applicants in the interview and ranking process.
  • We will be precise and honest in our communications with applicants. We will not use misleading language.
  • We will not make any statements about an applicant’s likelihood to match in our programs. Specifically, we will not use terms such as "ranked to match". We will not reach out to selected applicants with coded language implying their rank position or that their reply back to the program will be expected.
  • Our Post-interview communications from any program representative will be limited to applicant request-driven requests and responses. Factual information (e.g., program updates) will be sent to all applicants. Any program initiated informational outreach that is done by faculty or fellows will be available to all applicants. Program representatives (or anyone perceived to represent the program) will not make unsolicited phone calls, send unsolicited e-mails, or engage in other forms of unsolicited individualized communication to applicants.
  • Any post-interview events will be open to all applicants or all applicants within a specific group (i.e., a diversity event or physician scientist event). It should be clear that participation in such events is voluntary and that attendance will not be taken.

Applicant Post-Interview Communications

  • Applicants are welcome to e-mail the program residents, fellows, faculty or leadership with any questions about the program and can expect an individual response, but these responses cannot indicate or hint at an applicant’s likelihood to match in the program.
  • Applicants are not obliged to reply to any communications from our programs, and a lack of response will not impact their status, as post-interview communication has no impact on rank decisions.

Thank you notes or e-mails from interviewed applicants are acceptable, but such communications will not routinely receive a reply.
