Curriculum and Didactic Training

The educational aspect of the program begins with 20-24 months in research. The fellow has the option to spend four months on ancillary rotations and the last 24 months will be spent on the gynecologic oncology services at Jackson Memorial Hospital, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, University of Miami Hospital, and South Miami Hospital.

During the four year program, fellows attend weekly and monthly didactics, conferences, grand rounds, and seminars. All fellows (including research fellows) are required to attend these conferences. The fellows’ time is protected to allow attendance. Including the following:

  • Departmental Grand Rounds
  • Tumor Board
  • Morbidity and Mortality Conference
  • Didactic Series Conference
    • Journal Club
    • Literature/Chapter Review
    • Site Disease Group Research Meetings
    • Weekly Obstetics and Gynecology Grand Rounds
    • Weekly Multidisciplinary Disposition Conferences
    • Gynecologic Oncology Core Curriculum lectures
    • Pre-operative and In-patient Conferences
