Application Information
Lipidology has been an integral part of our training program under the direction of Dr. Ronald Goldberg (Diplomate, American Board of Clinical Lipidology), a nationally recognized lipidologist, and several other faculty members with experience in managing lipid disorders.
Fellows rotate through the weekly lipid clinic during their first year of training. They receive a broad “hands-on” experience with the more common disorders seen in the clinic such as familial hypercholesterolemia, moderate to severe hypertriglyceridemia and chylomicronemia syndrome, as well as less common disorders. They also develop experience in the use of lipid modifying treatments and their side effects including the newer agents such as the PCSK9 antagonists. They receive an up to date and in depth core curriculum course in lipidology. Fellows are encouraged to retain their connection to lipidology by joining the National Lipid Association and several of our fellows have taken the national lipidology boards and achieved certification in lipidology.
