What is the NextGenMD Curriculum

NextGenMD is a revolutionary curriculum that shapes medical students into impactful leaders who will transform the future of health care.
NextGenMD focuses on case-based and small-group learning, early clinical skills, community involvement, mentorship, and diverse skill sets beyond a medical degree. Students champion discovery and its translation into clinical interventions to enhance global health. Designed to align with the dynamic environment of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, the curriculum integrates training at three hospitals, offering hands-on clinical experience from the first year of medical school to a diverse patient population.

NextGenMD Curriculum Structure

Our students complete their medical education in three phases. We offer longitudinal courses that span the breadth of our curriculum, including our Scholarly Concentration courses, which guide you into a pathway of emphasis or a dual-degree program.
