Who We Are
We are a group of students in the University of Miami Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Graduate Student Government (BMBGSG) that seek to create opportunities for BMB students to enjoy life after the hard and tiring work in the lab. We also find ways to help students achieve a good study-work-life balance to positively affect the health and well-being of the entire BMB student body. The committee chair leads and encourages its members to help BMBGSG attain its goals and aspirations through the social events and opportunities.
What We Do
The committee plans events and activities that help to build a strong community that supports each other while we strive to achieve our goals. This includes building up networks for study and career opportunities, coordinating social gatherings such as athletic and cultural events, and of course social hours.
In its first year, our committee organized virtual welcome back socials and game nights due to the pandemic. In the last year, we have conducted social hours and game events to relax from long work hours and we are hoping to organize some exciting events to continue the fun.
