BMBGSG and MDCPS Outreach Initiative

While learning about science in class is a lot of fun, learning about science while doing hands-on activities is even better. We work with the science club at Miami Edison HS to do demos once or twice a month during the school year. This has been a great way to learn and teach science.

We are very fortunate that we have been able to have students from Miami Edison HS visit our campus to participate in demos and see our research labs. We participated in a day full of learning and science with the students.

Athletes are often discouraged from pursuing STEM degrees in college. We spoke to current athletes at Alonso and Tracy Mourning HS about how to pursue a STEM degree while being an athlete. We had graduate students who played a sport in college and achieved a STEM degree talk to the high schoolers about their experiences.
