Dr. E.Robert Schwartz, M.D., FAAFP is the director of the Osher Center for Integrative Health. He has had a life-long interest in integrative medicines approaches to patient care. Under his leadership the Osher Center is developing the ability to provide integrative and functional medicine, meditation, acupuncture and Ayurvedic care. Additionally, massage therapy, health coaching and approaches to musculo-skeletal interventions in a holistic approach to patient’s health are important contributors to overall well-being. Helping patients understand the right approaches to supplements will be an important part of our patient centered educational approach.
Dr Schwartz has a personal interest in Healthy Aging, which entails helping patients with key factors in their life, such as sleep, stress reduction, nutrition, physical activity, and lifestyle factors contributing to poor health and illness. Understanding environmental toxins and the risk to overall well-being is also of significant importance to one’s health.
The Center is part of 10 other nationally recognized Osher programs throughout the country and enhances our ability to cooperate with advancing patient and medical student education in the field. Along with research which will be one of our top priorities we hope to enhance our patient’s ability to make better evidence-based choices for their health.
