Research Overview

The University of Miami Osher Center for Integrative Health research focuses on whole person health and well-being (psychological, physiological, social, and spiritual). Our objective is to enhance the base of scientific evidence for integrative medicine by performing rigorous research to inform the utilization of effective approaches in medical care and taught in medical education.

The goals of the research program are to 1) examine the effectiveness and safety of integrative health approaches to enhance patient self-healing. 2) Determine the mechanisms of integrative medicine treatments (how they work) in order to optimize treatment effectiveness.
