The Miami CFAR has an emerging opportunities mechanism in place for innovative, emerging concepts only for extremely exceptional circumstances. In most cases, applications should be submitted through the annual pilot awards mechanism. The application will be reviewed by at least three senior investigators and then discussed with the Miami CFAR Directors. A decision will be made based on the quality and innovation of the project and if there are available CFAR funds to support the project.
