Claudia Santos, B.S.

Research Support Manager, IDPRU Clinic

Claudia graduated from the University of Miami in 2011. With her Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and Immunology, Claudia has worked in preclinical and clinical research trials over the past 13 years. More recently, Claudia’s main focus has been on clinical trials for HIV prevention through counseling, vaccination, and various oral and injectable PrEP medications.


Stefani Butts, M.P.H.

Program Manager, RAPID Program

Stefani moved to the US from Trinidad to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2006, and subsequently a Master of Public Health, at Florida International University. She joined the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in 2016, initially working on national and international research projects related to the uptake of PrEP and other forms of HIV prevention in underserved communities. In 2018, she transitioned to a more clinically oriented role with the Mobile PrEP/RAPID program while it was still in its infancy. Her experiences as an immigrant, with research, and from her work with patient care allows her to bring distinctive insight and perspective to our bio-behavioral HIV prevention research program, which she has managed since 2019.


Katherine King, B.S.

Project Manager, Mobile PrEP and Rapid Access Wellness Clinic

In 2019, Katherine earned her Bachelor’s degree in Public Health from the University of South Florida. Katherine began her career with the University of Miami in 2019, as a skilled HIV testing and prevention counselor, and her work centered around providing access to biomedical HIV prevention strategies in low-barrier clinical settings through the Mobile PrEP program and Rapid Access Wellness Clinic. In 2022, she began to manage the Mobile PrEP program and Rapid Access Wellness Clinic.


Katie Klose, M.S.W.

Project Manager

Katie has been actively working in HIV prevention and treatment at the University of Miami since 2013. Throughout her time, she has had a role in various research studies and initiatives aimed at preventing the spread of HIV and improving treatment outcomes. With a passion for helping others, she obtained her Masters, in Social work from Barry University. Currently, as Project Manager for the Rapid Entry to Care Program, Katie is dedicated to facilitating an easy and accessible on-ramp to care for people living with HIV.
