APT Process and Requirements
Understanding the process and requirements for promotion is a key to success. The information presented here will outline the expectations for faculty applying for promotion on all tracks. Included in this information is an overview of the Miller School Faculty Council Bylaws, and the timing of the promotion cycle. All junior faculty are encouraged to review and participate in the information sessions held by the Office of Faculty Affairs and Professional Development in the Fall of each year.
For planning purposes, it is important to understand the timing of the Appointments, Promotion and Tenure. The process and timelines is as follows:
Individual Faculty and Department
The cycle begins in mid-January, with notification to the department chairs that faculty requests for promotion will be due in the next month.
