General Practice Residency Program
The General Practice Residency Program at the University of Miami Hospital and Clinics is a two year, postdoctoral education program based in Miami, Florida. The program offers the residents the experience to provide routine, complex and comprehensive dental care in healthy and compromised patients.

Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency
Oral and maxillofacial surgeons are specialists who treat conditions such as head and neck cancer, tumors and cysts of the jaws, cleft and craniofacial deformities, obstructive sleep apnea, misaligned jaws, accident victims suffering facial injuries, reconstructive and dental implant surgery, functional and esthetic conditions of the maxillofacial areas, and dental extractions including wisdom teeth and preparation for dentures.
Their training consists of a four-year graduate degree in dentistry and the completion of four-year hospital surgical residency training. Upon completion of the training the resident earns his/her certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and becomes eligible for Board Certification. Resident who choose to pursue a medical degree are encouraged to do so by applying to the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine with support from the faculty at the completion of their third year. The goal of this residency at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, and the Jackson Memorial Medical Center is to provide the highest level of training in the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and to insure development of skilled surgeons capable of providing continuing, comprehensive care. The program boasts a strong academic flavor with a high priority given to research and clinical care.
Residents are closely involved in patient management, under the direct supervision and guidance of the faculty. This relationship allows for resident education while maintaining the high standard of patient care.
Our mission is to provide excellent patient care, contribute to basic and clinical research, and train the future academic leaders of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery profession.
