Stroke is a leading cause of death and disability in the United States, and throughout much of the world. Strokes can occur at any age, and survivors may experience a wide variety of impairments, including weakness, numbness, difficulty swallowing and/or speaking, and poor balance.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the physiatrist and neuropsychologist develop an individualized rehabilitation plan designed to improve functional skills and maximize a patient’s quality of life. Our physicians are also experts in the treatment of spasticity following stroke and can assist stroke survivors in need of therapies and/or equipment to aid in their mobility, communication, swallowing, performance of activities of daily living, and their ability to return to driving, school, and/or work.
