Patient Care
The Division of Gynecology at the University of Miami is committed to providing comprehensive and compassionate care. Our staff supports patients through their decision-making in a caring and supportive environment. We work to keep women safe and healthy throughout all stages of life with comprehensive, convenient services. We are sensitive to the needs of our patients and use the latest research to help each woman receive the individualized care she needs.
Our services include:
- Annual Pap smear and pelvic evaluation: Breast cancer screening and bone density assessment
- Abnormal pap smear: Management
- Abnormal Uterine Bleeding: Heavy or painful periods
- Abnormal vaginal discharge and vaginal symptoms
- Contraception Counseling including: Oral contraceptives, IUD insertion and removal, Nexplanon insertion and removal.
- IUD insertion and removal includes Mirena, Kyleena, Skyla and ParaGard
- Endometriosis: Evaluation and management
- Perimenopause and Menopause: Counseling and hormone replacement treatment. Treatment of genitourinary symptoms
- Management of uterine fibroids
- Sexual Dysfunction: Evaluation and management

Research
In addition to our clinical services, we support clinical research in the field of obstetrics and gynecology by our committed team of faculty, residents and medical students. We have been engaged in clinical research for many years and our faculty have demonstrated excellence in performing research and in training new investigators.
Education
The Division of Gynecology is committed to educating healthcare practitioners at all levels of medical training. We provide both classroom-based and clinical instruction to our learners. Training at our clinical sites gives medical students and OB-GYN residents opportunities to care for patients from a wide range of diverse backgrounds and experiences. Our wide-reaching gynecologic patient population, combined with a committed faculty, creates a rich environment for medical students and residents to train in our vibrant community.
