Quotes from Alumni

"University of Miami / Jackson Memorial Hospital served as an excellent training program managing critically-ill neurological, neurosurgical, and general intensive care patients.  The attending physicians and nursing staff were wonderful to work with and took time to teach and supervise procedures.  The unit was well-staffed with a combination of emergency and neurology residents, providing opportunities to teach as well.  The diversity of patients, both with respect to their spectrum of diseases and relative severity, offered the best training environment to perfect critical care skills and decision making, to the point where I can confidently manage non-neurological critical care disorders as an intensivist.  Although weeks at Jackson Memorial Hospital are very clinically busy, there is ample time during elective rotations to work on special interests--whether they be research, quality improvement, procedural skills, or education.  In summary, my time at University of Miami provided a strong clinical and academic training environment that has allowed me to excel as an attending physician."

"Jackson Memorial Hospital Neurocritical care Fellowship program is a wonderful program for any resident who is interested in learning neurocritical care skills. With a diverse patient population, well established Brain trauma program, excellent faculty for taking care of acute neurological emergencies, I feel JMH is a place to learn and grow. It goes without saying that living in Miami with the perfect weather and completing the fellowship comes as an added on bonus. I believe that with the practical knowledge I gained during my fellowship, I became more confident and a better physician who could take care of any critically sick patient. The program offers great research experience and opportunity to collaborate with other departments."
