The research study “Genetics of Frontotemporal Degeneration in Diverse Populations” at the John P. Hussman Institute for Human Genomics (HIHG) is led by Dr. Nuytemans and Dr. Pericak-Vance and is funded by a Department of Defense research award.

Clinical research coordinator Dr. Martinez leads the patient enrollment efforts through patient-initiated contact in the US as well as through collaborators (see below) at the University of Miami Hospital, the Centro Caribeño para el Estudio de la Memoria y Cognición in San Juan, Puerto Rico and the Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Neurologicas (CIBN-INCN) in Lima, Peru.
