Four years ago, we launched our transformative new curriculum, NextGenMD, to create optimal medical school graduates and physicians of the future who can tackle complex health care challenges.
NextGenMD prioritizes case-based learning, providing early exposure to clinical settings as early as the students’ first year of medical school. All students choose a scholarly concentration pathway or a secondary degree and meet regularly in small groups with mentors who offer coaching, advocacy, and support. Our most recent graduating class, the Class of 2024, was the first cohort of NextGenMD scholars.
The students were highly competitive nationally, matching across the country at top-tier institutions like Harvard, Johns Hopkins University, Yale and UC San Francisco.
