Willed Body Program for the South Florida Office of the Anatomical Board

Monetary contributions in memory of deceased (friends and family members) may be made to the Office of Medical Education. Such gifts are used to improve our educational facilities and teaching materials, and thus have a direct effect on our students’ educational experiences.

To make your memorial contribution to the department, make your check payable to the Office of Medical Education. Include the name of the person in whose memory the contribution is being made. Your check should be sent to:

Office of Medical Education
University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine
P.O. Box 016960 (R-160)
Miami, Florida 33101

When a Gift Cannot Be Accepted

Although most donations are gratefully accepted, there are some limitations on the acceptance of a donation. A body cannot be accepted if an autopsy has been performed, if the individual had sepsis, extreme obesity, or a highly contagious disease (such as hepatitis, AIDS), contractures, amputations, signs of decomposition, or if death was caused by a crushing injury. If you wish, the eyes may be removed for donation.
