Applying for Accommodations
All academic accommodation for students with disabilities is handled through the Camner Center for Academic Resources Office of Disability Services (ODS) on the University of Miami Coral Gables campus.
The process could take four to six weeks; therefore, we encourage students to apply for accommodations upon acceptance into the medical program to avoid delays.
The Office of Disability Services requires current and complete documentation to determine reasonable accommodation. This includes, but is not limited to, a diagnosis of a current disability, the date of the diagnosis, how the diagnosis was reached, the credentials of the diagnosing professional and how the disability affects a major life activity.
Please contact the Director of Medical Student Disability Services at l.martin4@miami.edu for accommodation inquiries and support. Your inquiry is confidential, and students are welcome to obtain general information about accessibility and accommodation without registering.
