Department of Radiology

The Office of Research Administration is available to assist Radiology faculty, residents, and fellows with their research endeavors. One of the main purposes of the Radiology Research Administration Office is to assist Radiology faculty to promote research, foster mentoring, and conduct high quality, robust research while complying with federal and institutional guidelines.

Mission Statement

The University of Miami, Office of Radiology Research Administration’s mission is to assist faculty and nurture residents and fellows to conduct robust research resulting in high quality research experiences. Committed to excellence, we strive to develop future leaders in imaging research.

Services Provided

We provide support for faculty interested in conducting research: Human Subject research training; IRB submissions; Pre-award submissions; Pharmaceutical industry or Federally funded grants; Review each project requiring radiology research imaging; Provide infrastructure for faculty mentoring of resident research projects.

We also provide research coordination support for ongoing research projects requiring data management and subject recruitment at UMHC.

Education

The Office of Research is working with the Radiology Residency Program Director to provide course training lectures in conducting research. These lectures include topics such as hypothesis testing, research logistics, statistics, and presentation reviews of resident projects. This office coordinates oversight of the Radiology Imaging Research Committee to provide critique and feedback of resident project presentations. We also provide support for residents to submit their IRB proposals and counsel them on the administrative requirements.
