Division of Functional Neurosurgery

We are proud to offer a top-tier CAST-approved fellowship. This fellowship is offered to one fellow each year and consists of a year-long program. We also encourage residents to participate in cases and research.  Both fellow and residents will participate in all multidisciplinary meetings to understand the intricacies of functional pathology as well as the process of selection of patients for appropriate therapy.  The trainees will participate in all functional and epilepsy cases as well as weekly clinics.

  1. Stereotactic Radiosurgery
    Students explore this minimally invasive surgical approach to manage conditions such as brain tumors, vascular abnormalities, and functional disorders.

  2. In-depth Neuroanatomy and Neurophysiology
    Our curriculum provides a thorough understanding of neuroanatomy and neurophysiology, aas it relates to functional therapeutic interventions, allowing students to delve into the intricate workings of the nervous system.

  3. Neuropharmacology and Neuroimaging
    We also offer a deep dive into neuropharmacology and neuroimaging, equipping students with crucial knowledge and skills that form the backbone of neurosurgery.

  4. Surgical Techniques and Postoperative Care
    Our education program emphasizes various surgical techniques, neuromodulation procedures, and postoperative care, preparing students to deliver high-quality patient care.
