We have one of the largest neurosurgical spine programs in the country based on the number of faculty and operative case volume. Our comprehensive and innovative spine service includes the latest surgical technologies such as minimally invasive spine surgery, endoscopic spine surgery, robotics, neuronavigation, and complex spinal reconstructions for degenerative diease, tumors and trauma. The majority of our spinal cord and spine research is powered by the groundbreaking research of our world renowned scientist and investigators who work within the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis.
Our cranial neurosurgeons perform minimally invasive endoscopic and skull based approaches to resect both benign and malignant tumors of the brain. They collaborate with our Uhealth otolaryngologist and Sylvester comprehensive Cancer Center radiation oncologist to provide multidisciplinary care. We have ongoing basic science and clinical trials research is conducted by our faculty at the Univerity of Miami Brain Tumor Instititute (UMBTI) in collaboration with the Sylvester comprehensive Cancer Center.
Our vascular and endovascular colleagues can cure cerebrovascular diseases with either open or catheter based approaches and treat brain aneurysm, AVMs and strokes with the latest availble technologies. Finally our functional, neuro trauma, peripheral nerve and pediatric neurosurgeons assure that all critical areas of neruosurgery are serviced.
We have some the most experienced faculty in the South East of the U.S. who take care of complex neruosurgical disorders and participate in clinical trials and publishes peer review articles. With our 25 full-time faculty we help educate the next generation of neurosurgeons as one of the largest neurosurgical training programs in the country.
