Our Global Health Dermatology Fellowship is a comprehensive 12-month non-ACGME training program designed specifically for international dermatologists seeking advanced clinical training to enhance their practice in their home countries. This specialized fellowship provides intensive training in medical, cosmetic, or surgical dermatology techniques that may not be readily available in the fellows' home regions. Upon completion, fellows return to their home countries as leaders equipped to improve dermatological care and train the next generation of dermatologists in their communities.

Educational Mission
The fellowship provides international dermatologists with advanced clinical training and specialized skills not readily available in their home countries. Our goal is to empower these physicians to return home as leaders in their field, equipped with cutting-edge knowledge and techniques that will significantly improve dermatological care access and quality in their communities. This program serves as a catalyst for career advancement while building local capacity through the development of future healthcare leaders who can transform dermatological care in their regions.
Core Objectives
Advanced Clinical Training: Develop new skills and knowledge in medical, surgical, and/or cosmetic dermatology
Leadership Development: Build skills to become a dermatology leader and educator upon return to your home institution
Research Excellence: Gain research expertise and contribute to publications that advance dermatological knowledge globally
Teaching & Mentorship Skills: Develop abilities to train and mentor colleagues, residents, and students in your home country
Career Advancement: Acquire specialized knowledge and credentials that will enhance your professional standing and impact in your community

Eligibility Requirements
Educational Prerequisites
Required: Successfully completed dermatology residency program (US or international)
Valid ECFMG certification for international medical graduates
Demonstrated English fluency
Visa Requirements
J-1 visa applicants only will be considered
Must have passed USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 Clinical Knowledge
Must be eligible for USMLE Step 3

Compensation & Benefits
This is a paid fellowship position with salary equivalent to a PGY-1 resident, including comprehensive benefits: health care, dental care, prescription plan, meal stipend and educational fund.

This is a non-ACGME accredited fellowship program that does not lead to board certification or provide pathways for US practice opportunities. Graduates receive a certificate of completion from the University of Miami and are prepared specifically for leadership roles in their home countries, not for practice within the United States.
