Fellows are expected to develop a comprehensive, state-of-the-art, understanding of rheumatic diseases, including their clinical manifestations, pathophysiology, and management.
What is the application process for the fellowship?

Applications are submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS), which opens on July 1 of the year prior to the fellowship start date. Interviews are typically conducted in September and October, with the Medical Subspecialties Match occurring in early December.
What clinical training opportunities are available?

Fellows participate in inpatient rotations at Jackson Memorial Hospital, University of Miami Hospital and Clinics, and the Miami Veterans Affairs Medical Center. They also engage in outpatient clinics at Jackson Memorial Hospital, the Miami VA Clinic, and the University of Miami faculty practice, providing a diverse range of clinical experiences.
What research training is provided?

Fellows are expected to be involved in the formulation and design of at least one original research protocol. They are encouraged to present their research findings at national meetings and to publish their work in peer-reviewed journals.
