University of Miami Superfund Research Program

The central hypothesis of the UM-SRP will be addressed by multidisciplinary and highly integrated approaches, which combine our expertise in environmental toxicology, human health, community engagement, risk assessment, and technology development. This close integration will be accomplished by working thoroughly with the Cores and our Advisory Boards and will enable crosstalk between Projects 1-4.

Administrative and Research Translation (ART Core)

Leadership and Research Translation for the University of Miami Superfund Program

Community Engagement Core (CEC)

Focusing on the communities living close to the Homestead Air Base Superfund Site

Data Management and Analysis Core (DMAC)

Leveraging hardware and software resources as well as providing data management and analysis support

Research Experience and Training Coordination Core (RETCC)

Facilitating training opportunities for students through research, seminars and workshops, interactions with scientific communities and the general public

Research Support Core (RSC)

Research is focused on phthalate detection in environmental and biological samples
