Biostatistics and Data Management

Florida-Puerto Rico Collaboration to Reduce Stroke Disparities

The biostatistics and Data Management Core (Core C) is the analytical hub of the Florida Puerto Rico Collaboration to Reduce Stroke Disparities. Core C provides a centralized resource for the statistical needs of the Florida Puerto Rico Stroke Registry and the Research Education and Training Plan (Core B).

The Core is responsible for the organization of the Case Report Forms, data collection instruments and database design, implementation, and modification; quality assurance; preparation of data for reporting as required by the Administrative Core A and the National Institutes of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS); and maintenance of data security and confidentiality.

In addition to data management, Core C provides guidance on statistical planning, interim and final data analyses, analytic monitoring, and statistical publication review for the FL PR CReSD. This component provides collaborative and integral support to the FL PR CReSD Stroke Registry investigators on matters of study design, data analyses and interpretation of results.

The Statistics Component is responsible for developing, implementing and interpreting statistical analysis plans appropriate to the specific research projects, providing interim and final study reporting to the FL PR CReSD investigators in Miami and Puerto Rico and to the NINDS, and collaborating on all scientific abstracts and manuscripts generated as a part of this program.
