Ombudsperson Dr. Helen Bramlett
The Ombudsperson, Helen Bramlett, Ph.D., M.S. serves as an independent, neutral and confidential resource for UM Miller School of Medicine’s faculty.
Dr. Bramlett is a Professor of Neurological Surgery and serves as Director of the Undergraduate Neuroscience Program at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Additionally, she serves as a Research Health Scientist at the Bruce W. Carter Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Dr. Bramlett received a Ph.D. in Behavioral Neuroscience and completed her postdoctoral work in neurotrauma at the University of Miami. She is an internationally recognized scientist with more than 25 years of experience in the field of central nervous system (CNS) injury and is currently funded by the NIH, the State of Florida and the Veterans Affairs (VA).
Dr. Bramlett serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Neurotrauma Reports and is on the Editorial Boards of Journal of Neurotrauma, Translational Stroke Research, and Therapeutic Hypothermia and Temperature Management.
She is a founding member of InflamaCORE, LLC, a company dedicated to treating and diagnosing inflammatory injury and disease.
Associate Ombudsperson Bridgette M. Nevils-Taylor
The Associate Ombudsperson, Bridgette Nevils-Taylor, serves as an independent, neutral and confidential resource for the UM Miller School community.
Bridgette is an accomplished professional with a robust background in conflict resolution and relationship building. Throughout her tenure at the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine, where she has worked since 1995, she has demonstrated proficiency in communication, leadership development and strategic event planning.
Currently serving as the Associate Ombudsperson, Bridgette provides impartial conflict resolution services and educates constituents while upholding the integrity of the office.
Bridgette holds a Master of Science degree in Management Studies, with a concentration in Leadership, and a Bachelor of Arts in General Studies with a focus in Human Resources Management from the University of Miami. Additionally, she holds a Master of Science in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from Nova Southeastern University, specializing in organizational conflict.
Clinical Ombudsperson Steve Falcone, M.D., M.B.A.
Dr. Falcone is Professor of Radiology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. His current positions in the Department of Radiology include the Associate Chair/Vice Chair of Faculty Affairs and Director of Undergraduate Medical Education. He also serves as DIO for the JFK Medical Center/University of Miami Miller School of Medicine GME consortium.
He is a neuroradiologist with expertise in the interpretation of MRI and CT of the neuroaxis/head and neck, with privileges at UMHC and JMH. He has published more than 100 book chapters, peer-reviewed journal articles, abstracts and scientific exhibits.
Dr. Falcone has held many leadership roles within the Miller School and UHealth, including but not limited to Executive Clinical Dean at the Regional Campus, Executive Dean for Clinical Affairs, CEO of the UHealth Clinical Practice and Associate Vice President for Medical Affairs.
Dr. Falcone joined the Faculty in July 1992 and has more than 30 years of clinical and administrative experience.
