Executive Dean's Message

Office of Medical Education

Dear Applicants,

We are excited that you are considering our Accelerated Pathway to Residency program here at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Our Accelerated Pathway allows for medical students to complete medical school at an accelerated pace in a 3-year timeframe and consider the option to transition into one our participating residency programs. We are one of over 30 programs nationally that comprise the Consortium of Accelerated Medical Pathways Programs (CAMPP). We are proud of our program that has been in existence since 2019 and hope that you will consider applying to this program.

The Accelerated Pathway has many benefits, including financial savings of training costs and early attainment of physician salaries for the trainees in the program.  Faculty rate the skills and competencies of those graduating from the accelerated programs as indistinguishable from those graduating from the traditional four-year medical schools.  You will have the benefits of meaningful clinical, educational, research or community work related to your specialty of interest from the very first year of medical school.

We are delighted that all our UM/Jackson residency programs are joining together in this medical school initiative to participate in the Accelerated Pathway program.  We have created several unique educational opportunities in the pathway to develop and hone your skills at an accelerated pace as future clinicians, scholars, and educators.

We believe that graduates of the Accelerated Pathway will become amazing future physicians and produce well trained specialists.  We invite you to learn more about this unique pathway here at the Miller School of Medicine.
