The Health Careers Motivation Program will be hosted at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine from Monday, June 16, 2025 – Friday, June 27, 2025. The program provides students with the opportunity to explore the physician profession and become a well-rounded medical school applicant. Participants will be exposed to simulation education, clinical medicine, academic enrichment, and applying to medical school. Along with counseling and mentorship by University of Miami Miller School of Medicine faculty, residents, and medical students.

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible to apply, applicants must meet the following requirements:
US citizen, US permanent resident, or DACA recipient.
College sophomore, junior, senior, master’s student, or recent college or master’s graduate (within the last two years).
Minimum overall GPA of 3.2.
Accepted students MUST live at the Lakeside Village on the University of Miami Coral Gables Campus for the duration of the program. Housing costs are covered.
No cost for accepted students to attend.

Only COMPLETE applications will be reviewed. ALL supporting documents must be submitted by the application deadline (no exceptions). Incomplete applications or those submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
Write a Personal Statement (maximum of 400 words) explaining why you wish to participate in the Health Careers Motivation Program. Be sure to highlight your personal and professional goals and any personal attributes or experiences that would be deemed desirable for a career in medicine.

(2) Letters of Recommendation
IMPORTANT: Letters of recommendation should be submitted on an official letterhead and at least one letter must come from a science professor. All letters of recommendation MUST be emailed by the recommender directly to the Office of Belonging & Inclusive Excellence at officeofbelonging@med.miami.edu. The deadline to submit letters is Friday, February 21, 2025.
