Our program is distinguished by a robust student–faculty partnership model that drives innovation and accountability.
What began as a small group of students advocating for stronger nutrition and culinary medicine training has evolved into a 50-member interdisciplinary Nutrition Working Group representing faculty and students across clinical, basic science, public health, and lifestyle medicine disciplines. This structure reflects national best practices emphasizing collaborative, learner-driven curriculum development in nutrition and lifestyle medicine education.
The Working Group’s design ensures that curriculum development remains dynamic, responsive, and evidence based. Continuous learner feedback, ongoing faculty scholarship, and alignment with emerging nutrition science allow the program to adapt quickly to new data and clinical guidelines. By intentionally recruiting new students each year, the Working Group also builds a sustainable pipeline of leaders committed to advancing nutrition education within the medical school.
