Dr. Bishop received her BS degree in Nutrition and Exercise Science from the Florida State University in 1999, her DPT from the University of Miami in 2004. She held clinical positions at Johns Hopkins Hospital and at New York Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center, and then transitioned into a research physical therapy position at Columbia University in 2008. She completed her PhD in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Motor Learning from Columbia University’s Teachers College in 2018 followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at University of Southern California. Dr. Bishop joined the faculty at UMPT as an Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy in 2022 and is also an NIH StrokeNet Scholar.
