The Oncology Molecular Therapeutics division is a multi- disciplinary, state-of-the-art center of research excellence that is focused on providing effective therapeutic options for the treatment of various kinds of malignancies and public health concerns that urgently need our attention. We are committed to pursuing all round excellence in research and take pride in fostering a collaborative research environment that welcomes investigators, scientists and trainees from diverse backgrounds and specialties from all over the world, all in the pursuit of one goal: providing breakthroughs in treating some of the most dreaded diseases and malignancies of our times.

Our groundbreaking research receives support and accolades from prestigious funding agencies such as the National Institute of Health, Florida Department of Health, Department of Defense, and many philanthropic and private grants.  Some of the areas that are currently being investigated under the OMT Division are:

  • Gut microbiome dysbiosis in Cancer, chronic inflammation and HIV associated co-morbidities.
  • Gut-brain axis and Opioid and substance abuse
  • Pathobiology, mechanism, and treatment of GI CANCERS such as GASTRIC, PANCREATIC, COLON CANCER
  • Pathobiology and treatment of pancreatitis
  • Role of microRNA in Cancer, Inflammation, HIV and associated co-morbidities
  • Antiangiogenic treatment of Ovarian, cervical and Breast cancer
  • Additive effects of tobacco smoke and prescription opioids on colitis associated cancer (CAC)
