Welcome to the Division of General Surgery at the Miller School of Medicine’s DeWitt Daughtry Family Department of Surgery.

Our highly-trained faculty admits, operates, and cares for individuals with a variety of complex upper intestinal (foregut) problems. The division has been providing top-notch patient care and consultation since 1972. We offer a variety of surgical procedures for a full spectrum of pathologies located in the abdomen and intestinal tract. Areas of expertise include liver, pancreas, and biliatry surgery.

In addition to providing premier surgical care, the division conducts ongoing research to advance the overall knowledge of general surgery and improve current treatment options, acts as a community resource for area physicians, and provides excellent education and guidance to surgical residents. Furthermore, the division is dedicated to providing Jackson Memorial Hospital, the community, the South Florida region, the Caribbean, and South America with excellent service, communication, response, and results.
