Welcome to the Division of Endocrine Surgery at the Miller School of Medicine’s DeWitt Daughtry Family Department of Surgery.

Our clinical services are recognized nationally and internationally as one of the top programs in endocrine surgery, the field of general surgery that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of patients with surgical diseases of the thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal glands, and hormone-producing tumors of the pancreas and gastrointestinal (GI) tract.

The division has been offering top-notch patient care and consultation since 1972 and performs some of the latest techniques in pre-operative localization and intraoperative hormone measurements. These technical advances have made “limited” parathyroidectomy a safe and effective treatment option and improved the operative approach in treating patients with insulin-producing tumors, among many other clinical benefits.

In addition to providing premier surgical care, the division conducts ongoing research to advance the overall knowledge within the field as well as to improve current treatment options.
