Medical Physics Residency

Department of Radiation Oncology
The Medical Physics Residency Training program at the Miller School started in 2013. It is the only Medical Physics Residency in the South Florida region.

The residency training program resides in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. This is a two-year program and is designed for individuals with a Ph.D. in medical physics, experimental physics, engineering or a closely related discipline, who are interested in careers in Radiation Oncology Medical Physics.

Our overall goal is to provide our residents hands-on clinical training and experiences in all aspects of radiation oncology physics to provide excellent patient care and prepare them for American Board of Radiology (ABR) board certification. The program is primarily clinical and is currently accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Physics Education Programs (CAMPEP). Our program accepts applicants from both CAMPEP-accredited Medical Physics Programs and from CAMPEP-accredited Certificate Programs. Additionally, the applicants must conform to the residency admission standards defined by CAMPEP (www.campep.org).
